Nickell's & Scheffler is going on vacation! We will be closed Monday, August 25-Monday, September 1. We will be back on Tuesday, September 2. We hope to see you then with hungry appetites. Please note: We will not be able to check e-mail or voice mail but will return calls when we get back.

Our new catering flyer is now posted in the menus section of our website. While we like to customize menus for our customers, these flyers will give you a good idea of catering we would love to do for you. If interested in corporate catering, Susan or Allison would be happy to visit with you and discuss menu options. For social catering, just give us a call at 703-549-5545 to discuss your plans.

We cook in small batches. Once food is gone for today, we won't cook more until tomorrow. We are happy to reserve orders if you call ahead. Our number is 703-549-5545.

Our house salad with mixed greens, grapes tomatoes and housemade croutons with your choice of our housemade dressings: sherry wine vinaigrette, creamy tarragon, Asian ginger scallion-Try it with an 8 oz. soup for a light meal

Baby spinach salad with dried cranberries, toasted pecans and housemade gorgonzola dressing--try it with an 8 0z. soup for a light meal

Summer salad with mixed greens , prosciutto, goat cheese, farmer's market grilled nectarines, blueberries, toasted almonds and maple balsamic vinaigrette

Crabcakes with roasted red pepper sauce

Marinated and sliced beef hanger steak with sauce vert (cornichons, capers, parsley, basil, olive oil and red wine vinegar)

Hummus with roasted red peppers and parsley and grilled pita

Sides:

Cucumber salad with grape tomatoes, red onion, capers and feta

Seasonal fruit salad with mint and lime zest--mostly farmer's market bounty

Orzo with Farmer's market tomatoes, mozzarella and drizzled with sherry wine vinaigrette

Farmer's market watermelon, grape tomatoes, scallions, parsley and sherry wine vinaigrette

Green and gold farmer's market zucchini pancakes with mint and basil

Spicy farmer's market roasted eggplant, red pepper and tomatoes

Cous cous with farmer's market roasted vegetables

Farmer's market fruit crisp with almonds

Cookies, macaroons and espresso brownies
